Photoshoot Plan for Music Magazine

This was a photoshoot plan, in order for me to organise what I wanted the images on my front cover to be. It helped me alot to use a photoshoot plan as a guide to what I wanted the models for my image to look like, instead of making it up as I went along.

Mood Board Presentation

I really enjoyed creating the mood board as it allowed me to collect and collage different images that I thought could offer me ideas of how I want my music magazine to be. It allowed me to think carefully about what the R&B and Hip Hop genre would offer in typical circumstances, so things like what colours were widely used, what type of artists are in the genre and they image and overall look.

The mood board didn't take me very long, and I had problems researching images of the different artists as I'm a fan of most of them anyway, which also helped me be certain about what genre of music my music magazine was going to be. Making the mood board also enabled me to think of who I wanted to target my magazine at, which is shown in the powerpoint.

Powerpoint of Result for Questionnaire

This is a powerpoint of the analysis of my pie charts from my questionnaire.

Questionnaire

These are the questions that I used to ask people, so that I could gain some input from the public, which would then help me generate some ideas that can benefit my magazine. Some useful ideas included using the main font CAPTURE IT as my masthead font, which I continued to use throughout my magazine. I also took on the price of the magazine from the results that showed that £2.60 would be appropiate. Also the colour scheme, which I kept contstant throughout the whole magazine.

Magazine Content Page

I started by changing the format of the paper to a4. Then I clicked the text button to form a text box and wrote in the masthead: Contents, I changed the size of the masthead to make it bigger and stand out using the font Size tool on Photoshop. Then I rotated the masthead to match the Front cover masthead.

I then made another text box using the text tool and began writhing the editorial pillars for my school magazine. The first was the Main Cover Stories. I wanted to have a backdrop colour on the text, i duplicated the layer, and on the copy chose a different colour, i thought that i had better keep in trend with colours of my magazine, so i used the colour purple. I then used the arrow keys to move the backdrop colour text around the original layer of the black Text. Once i was happy with this I linked the layers together so that i can easily rearrange the text if i wanted to.

I realised having asked people what they thought that the backdrop colour was a little difficult to read and they thought that it should be a much clearer font, so I removed the backdrop colour and kept the colour i had which was light purple and made it bigger and underlined.
I did this for all the editorial pillars, on my contents page.
